Job Description:

Our client operates a mine in the North West and they have a vacancy for a Maintenance Superintendent. They will report directly in to the Maintenance Manager.

               

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities
  • Coordinate and supervise the maintenance works (mobile and fixed mechanical equipment) for the successful completion of planned maintenance and repairs and to provide effective responses to unscheduled repairs or breakdowns
  • Keep updated on the latest technical developments from (Original Equipment Manufacturers)
  • Produce effective back-log plant asset management plan
  • Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of maintenance services
  • Develop and manage capital and operation budget for area of responsibility aligned to functional targets
  • Manage and ensure funds are optimally utilised within budget
  • Manage expenses
  • Manage OH&S and environmental hazards in the workplace
  • Ensure compliance with applicable SHE policies and procedures
  • Ensure that workshop, premises and yards are organised as per plan and housekeeping is done
  • Ensure proper access control in the workshop / workplace and Implement and action ISO 14 001 & 9001 standards


 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Matric
  • N6 relevant qualifications or equivalent, Engineering Mechanical Diploma will be advantageous
  • Qualified Earth Moving Mechanic (Section 13 trade test)
  • At least 10 – 12 years’ experience working in Open Pit Mining on earth moving machinery
  • MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Code 8 Driver’s license
  • Be able to operate Asset Management Tool (AMT) and sage
