Job Description:

Our client is a large Asian conglomerate who have affiliates in numerous different industries. This role is for their Explosives Division. Their main focus is Commercial division: Commercial explosives, Demolition etc. The successful candidate must come from a strong Sales/Marketing and Business Development background who can help grow the Company’s presence in Africa.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide input to and implement the sales and marketing strategy
  • Contribute to developing business models and roadmap for each target customer
  • Develop and analyze the sales plan containing an assessment of the current sales in a given region/market and a statement of sales objectives/forecast (short-term and long-term)
  • Assist in creating and implementing a sales process to improve sales
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions
  • Identify and manage new business opportunities using CRM tools provided
  • Develop individual sales approaches and engage with customers to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Obtain detailed market intelligence and develop capabilities to meet customer needs
  • Evaluate all financial aspects of product and service (revenue, cost, margins)
  • Monitor customer contract renewals and upsells
  • Ensure commercial restructures are correctly priced, negotiated and implemented with customers on a timely basis
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in order to stay abreast of both commercial and legal issues relating to commercial transactions
  • Identify risks and facilitate/provide appropriate solutions that deliver a balanced business outcome


 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • BSc in Engineering/Science or Finance/Business Honors degree or MBA
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field of detonators and explosives (including R&D, Manufacturing, Technical/Blasting Service, SHERQ and etc)
  • Minimum 10 years’ Sales and Marketing or Business Development experience for underground/surface mines
  • Strong mining networks and ability to convert customers to new products
  • Proven track record in successful customer and sales engagements
  • Have good knowledge and strong network of African explosives market
  • Meet all eligibility requirements to obtain Visa for overseas travel
  • English proficiency, Skills in MS Office, Openness, and adaptability to the new culture
