Our client is currently involved in constructing one of the biggest open-pit mines in South Africa.

Responsibilities:
Resource and Reserve Development, Growth and Reconciliation
Life of Mine Planning and Reconciliation
Operational Optimisation through the Introduction of Best Practice Concepts
Guidance of operational team towards achieving mining plans
Management of, and depletion of, the ore resource
Implementation and maintenance of safe, healthy and environmentally friendly operational plans
Effective resource and cost control
Human resource development and training
Development and generation of periodic management information reports
Continuously improve safety, cost and efficiency practices
Be a self-starter, highly driven and able to function independently
Be able to develop and implement systems in a multi-faceted organisational environment

Requirements
A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering obtained from a recognised institution
At least 15 years’ experience as a mining professional in an open pit operating environment, of which at least 5 years in an open pit planning role
Proficient in the use of mine design and planning software tools
Experience working on a greenfield project

Contractual information:
3 year contract
Relocation to the Northern Cape will be necessary
ZAR CTC market related salary
Start date: immediately
